More Than Lessons
At Prenton High School, we believe education extends far beyond the classroom. Our Student Life programme is designed to help students develop confidence, discover new interests, build friendships and create lasting memories through a wide range of enrichment opportunities.
We want every student to feel connected to school life and encouraged to take part in experiences that support their personal development, wellbeing and future aspirations. Through our #TeamPrenton ethos, students are given opportunities to belong, be heard and lead.
Clubs and Societies
We offer a wide range of clubs and societies designed to give students opportunities to explore their interests, develop new skills and enjoy spending time with others outside of lessons.
Our clubs programme continues to grow and includes opportunities linked to:
- Sport and fitness
- Music and performing arts
- STEM and technology
- Reading and literacy
- Creative arts and crafts
- Languages and culture
- Wellbeing and mindfulness
- Leadership and volunteering
- Enterprise and careers
- Eco and sustainability projects
Students are encouraged to commit to clubs across each half-term block to help build confidence, skills and positive relationships over time. Clubs are promoted regularly through assemblies, social media, displays and student leadership teams.
Student voice plays an important role in shaping our enrichment offer. New clubs and activities are introduced based on student interest and feedback, helping ensure there is something for everyone at Prenton.
Trips and Visits
Educational visits and enrichment trips are an important part of student life at Prenton High School. We believe students learn best when they are given opportunities to experience the world beyond the classroom and apply their learning in real-life contexts.
Throughout the year, students can take part in a variety of local, national and residential visits linked to:
- Curriculum enrichment
- Careers and Higher Education
- Sport and performance
- Cultural experiences
- Community and volunteering
- Personal development
Recent opportunities have included university visits, careers programmes, theatre experiences, sporting events, Aspire Programme activities and community projects.
We are committed to ensuring enrichment opportunities are inclusive and accessible for all students wherever possible. Some of the trips we offer include: Bletchley Park, London, York, Barcelona, Paris and Ypres, Italy and Camps International to Peru and Borneo, to name but a few.
Enrichment at Prenton
Enrichment is a key part of our wider Personal Development curriculum and plays an important role in helping students grow as individuals.
At Prenton, enrichment is designed to support the development of the LORIC skills:

Through enrichment, students develop the confidence and wider life skills needed for future education, employment and life beyond school.
Our enrichment programme includes:
- Clubs and societies
- Student leadership opportunities
- Awareness and celebration events
- Community volunteering
- Competitions and performances
- Careers and enterprise activities
- Wellbeing initiatives
- Eco and sustainability projects
Participation in enrichment activities is recognised and celebrated across the school, with opportunities tracked through Unifrog to help students build a record of their achievements and experiences.
Student Leadership and Enrichment
Student leadership is closely linked to Student Life at Prenton High School. Our Senior Student Leadership Team (SSLT) helps promote enrichment opportunities, organise events and encourage wider participation across the school community.
Students have opportunities to lead:
- Awareness campaigns
- Fundraising events
- Community projects
- Transition support
- Student voice activities
- Charity initiatives
- School events and celebrations
This helps students develop confidence, responsibility and pride in contributing to #TeamPrenton.
A Culture of Participation
We believe every student should have the opportunity to find something they enjoy and feel proud to be part of. Whether through sport, leadership, creativity, volunteering or enrichment activities, we encourage all students to get involved and make the most of school life.
At Prenton, Student Life is about more than taking part — it is about developing confidence, building friendships, discovering passions and creating a strong sense of belonging within #TeamPrenton.
How we make enrichment accessible to all
We are committed to ensuring that every student can access enrichment, leadership and wider personal development opportunities. Participation is actively encouraged and monitored so that students across all year groups, including disadvantaged students and students with SEND, are supported to take part, build confidence and feel a strong sense of belonging.
How we know it makes a difference
We use student voice, club registers, leadership participation, Unifrog records and feedback from students and families to review our offer and identify where further support or opportunities are needed. This helps us ensure that enrichment is meaningful, inclusive and responsive to students’ interests.
