Excellent attendance and punctuality are vital in order for your child to make the very best progress, to take advantage of a range of opportunities and to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Students should only be absent from school if they are genuinely ill and too unwell to attend school. If your child is unwell then you must let the school know by calling the school office on 0151 644 8113, selecting the absence line option or emailing the Attendance Team on attendance@prentonhighschool.co.uk.

If your child is absent from school and we do not receive a call from you, a text message will be sent to your chosen telephone numbers. This helps us to keep students safe and to alert you if your child has not arrived at school. Please let us know if your contact details change so that we have an up-to-date record.

Holidays during term time are not allowed and may result in a Fixed Penalty Notice being served.

If an absence during the school day is absolutely unavoidable, a letter must be written to school who will arrange for your child to have a pass-out. Students are not permitted to leave the school premises unless accompanied by a parent or authorised adult.

No student can leave the school site unaccompanied.

Please download the form below and return to school to apply for leave during term time.
