Student Destinations at Prenton High School
Confident Next Steps After Year 11
At Prenton High School, Wirral, our careers programme helps students explore their options and prepare for life after GCSEs. We support young people in making informed choices about sixth form, college, apprenticeships and further education or training, based on their interests, strengths and ambitions.
The destination information below shows the pathways taken by our school leavers. It helps current students and families understand the range of opportunities available after Year 11.
Exploring Post-16 Pathways
There is no single route to success. Students can consider A levels, T Levels, vocational qualifications and apprenticeships, each offering different ways to develop knowledge, skills and experience.
Our Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance programme introduces these pathways progressively from Year 7 to Year 11. Students explore opportunities across Wirral, Liverpool and the wider Liverpool City Region, learning how different qualifications can support their future plans.

Personal Guidance and Transition Support
During Years 10 and 11, students receive impartial individual careers guidance to help them explore suitable courses, providers and next steps. Following their careers interview, they receive an action plan to support further research and decision-making.
Our careers provision also helps students prepare applications, consider entry requirements and build confidence for interviews. Where additional support is needed, our teams work together to help students overcome barriers and prepare for transition.
Understanding Our Student Destinations
We use destination information alongside student feedback and participation data to evaluate our careers programme and identify areas for improvement.
When reviewing the information below, please refer to the stated school-leaver cohort and reporting period. The figures describe the destinations recorded for that group; they do not determine the choices available to future students.
