We are proud to introduce the Aspire+ Programme, a prestigious initiative for selected high-performing Year 10 students at Prenton High School.
Aspire+ is designed to stretch and challenge our most academically able learners by encouraging independent thinking, deeper learning, and high-level research outside of the standard curriculum. Students selected for the programme have the unique opportunity to explore a topic area of their choice in greater depth, working collaboratively with peers and supported by expert guidance from university student mentors.
What is Aspire+?
Aspire+ is more than just an enrichment programme—it’s a platform for academic excellence, personal development, and future success. It provides an exciting opportunity for students to:
- Engage with university-level environments and student mentors
- Develop advanced research and presentation skills
- Gain experience working as part of a collaborative project team
- Build confidence in academic writing and public speaking
- Deepen their understanding of subjects beyond the classroom
- Raise aspirations and understanding of higher education pathways
A Year of Growth and Discovery
Throughout the academic year, students take part in a range of enriching experiences designed to inspire, challenge and prepare them for life beyond secondary education. As part of this journey, they:
- Choose a topic of personal academic interest to investigate
- Work within a research group to explore this topic in depth
- Are mentored by university students to support their development
- Present their findings in a formal academic setting
