Helping Young People Explore Careers, Develop Skills and Discover Opportunities

At Prenton High School, Wirral, we believe that meaningful connections between education and the world of work are essential in preparing young people for successful futures.

We are always looking to develop new partnerships with local businesses, employers, industry professionals, further and higher education providers and former Prenton students (alumni) who can help us broaden horizons, raise aspirations and provide valuable real-world experiences.

Our Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme aims to ensure that every student has access to meaningful encounters with employers, workplaces and further education opportunities, regardless of their background or personal circumstances.

How Can You Support Our Students?

Whether you represent a small local business, a national organisation or are a former Prenton student, there are many ways to get involved in our careers and enterprise programme.

  • Work Experience and Workplace Visits: Offer students an insight into working life, different industries and the skills employers value.
  • Careers Talks and Employer Encounters: Share your professional journey, experiences and advice to inspire students and broaden their career aspirations.
  • Enterprise and Employability Activities: Support practical challenges, workshops and projects that develop communication, teamwork, problem-solving, creativity and initiative.
  • Careers Fairs and Networking Events: Help students explore employment opportunities, apprenticeships, further education and future career pathways.
  • Curriculum and Careers Links: Work alongside our teaching teams to demonstrate how classroom learning connects to real jobs, industries and the wider economy.
  • Alumni Inspiration: Return to Prenton to share your journey since leaving school and inspire the next generation of students.

Building Opportunities Across Wirral and the Liverpool City Region

We are particularly keen to strengthen partnerships with employers and organisations across Wirral, Birkenhead, Liverpool and the wider Liverpool City Region.

By working together, we can help students understand local employment opportunities, discover emerging industries and develop the essential skills, confidence and knowledge needed for their next steps.

Our approach supports the Gatsby Benchmarks for Good Career Guidance, helping students make informed decisions about their futures through meaningful encounters with employers and experiences of the workplace.
