All year 7 and 8 students will study Spanish and in year 9, all students pick up French as a second language. Students have three lessons of MFL over the two-week timetable throughout KS3. Our main coursebooks are Claro and Allez at KS3. All students have a login for this and are able to access the online version from outside of the classroom and enables them to complete independent study in the subject.

Students who started Prenton prior to September 2022 will continue with the current provision of Spanish.

Students who take with the E-Bacc, take one language at GCSE and have five lessons across the two-week timetable. From September 2025, students will have the choice of either French or Spanish at GCSE and will be able to study both languages if they wish. Students study all of the following themes on which assessments are based.
